Party

Pontstraße

The student bar street. Start your night here. Poststraße has a lot of bars too.

Apollo

The big mainstream club, Pontstraße 141-149, at the Ponttor. Mainstream music, theme nights, and the big welcome parties every October.

Musikbunker

Concerts and club nights in an old bunker. The locals' pick if you want something less mainstream.

Barbarossa

Cheap drinks. Karaoke on Wednesdays.

LikeLike

Tiki bar near Pontstraße with cheap and unusual wheat beers.

Sowiso

Good music, plus cards, darts and billiards.

Good to know

  • October is party season: watch the AStA calendar for the Semesteranfangsparty and the "Students United" welcome party at Apollo. Last year's had €5 entry before midnight and free beer until 1 am.
  • Locals say skip the "Nightlife" club near Rothe Erde.
  • For proper big-club nights, people go to Cologne, about an hour away by train.
