Housing in Erlangen

Find a room. Know what you are signing.

Start with Studierendenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg

You can only apply online. The Studierendenwerk lists more than 3,600 places, from single rooms to family flats, and a free private-room service for Erlangen and Nuremberg. The search is hardest in the weeks before the winter semester, especially for international students and late admissions.

Keep a second search running

A residence application is not a booking. Compare shared-flat rooms and private rentals while you wait. Check the address, the landlord or main tenant, the total monthly cost and the contract before paying.

Before you sign

Deposits, running costs, move-in confirmation and scam checks: read the housing guide for Germany before signing.
